What is anxiety?

Anxiety is nature's way of keeping us prepared for the unexpected or events that are frightening. It tends to go away in most people as the situation ends. Sometimes these feelings continue, which can affect your physical and mental health on a daily basis. Furthermore, anxiety cause panic attacks.

Because I fully understand causes anxiety and how much it can affect your life, I can help you to overcome it.

Symptoms of anxiety

  • insomnia

  • irritability

  • discomfort in your abdomen (tummy)

  • diarrhoea

  • dry mouth

  • shortness of breath

  • dizziness

  • needing to urinate more often than usual

  • difficulty swallowing

  • shaking

  • feeling worried or uneasy all the time

  • feeling tired

  • being irritable or quick to get angry

  • being unable to concentrate

  • feeling not in control

  • phobias

  • panic attacks

Panic attacks

Some people who have anxietymay also have panic attacks. This often happens with phobias. A panic attack is caused by a sudden feeling of being overwhelmed with a sense of danger and stress. Consequently, it can cause a number of different physical and emotional feelings as listed below.

  • very rapid breathing or feeling unable to breathe

  • very rapid heartbeat

  • pains in your chest /tightness of the chest

  • feeling faint or dizzy

  • sweating

  • ringing in your ears

  • tingling or numbness in your hands and feet

  • hot or cold flushes

  • feeling nauseous

  • wanting to go to the toilet

  • feelings of absolute terror

  • feelings of unreality, called depersonalisation and derealisation.

Almost all panic attacks come on very quickly with symptoms usually peaking within 10 minutes. Maybe, you have one or two panic attacks and never experience another, or you may have regular attacks. Training at Thrive with Ali can help to stop your panic attacks.
